Upon finishing the 3D Design Intensive for Footwear at Arsutoria School, my partner and I were tasked with digitally replicating an existing sneaker style with Italian brand DSquared2. My main responsibility involved meticulously recreating the entire outsole using Rhino, a challenging undertaking. The attention to detail and precision needed for digitally transforming uppers and components to achieve seamless factory readiness can be seen as a cornerstone for the future of the industry.
For larger companies, the integration of 3D prototyping available at the beginning of a season can significantly impact decision-making. This influence extends to financial projections, encompassing the cost of goods and minimizing the scale of additional sales samples.

Working with a quick hand drawn sketch based on a vaquero / caballera style silhouette and Newarc.ai, I was able to quickly generate a few photorealistic renders using the program.
Text prompts and vibes encompassing leather biker accessories, chrome, waxed and distressed cow hide, embroidery, traditional leather tooling. Elements of a less structured and contemporary material - with a neoprene shaft and it's association with surfing and diving intended to give the boots a more experimental and playful feel.
I plan to work with a master cordwainer to develop this style into a physical leather prototype. Check back for updates! For other AI related projects view here.
